Cold War Kids, the four years old Indie –rock group from Fullerton, will kick start their world tour on August 2nd from Australia. After giving a number of performances in Australia, they will move to Europe. The North American leg of their tour will start from San Francisco on August 22nd. Cold War Kids are planning to release the yet- untitled sophomore album on September 23rd. They traveled extensively to support their 2006 debut album “Robbers and Cowards”. The popularity of the concerts of Cold War Kids is so high that the tickets for most of the shows at the Australian venue are sold out.

The singer and bassist Kaite White and Jules De Martino, the guitarist and the drummer, of the British indie-pop band The Ting Tings will do concert shows in U.S starting from July 22nd. The official starting of the tour will take place at Washington DC and the band is planning to promote their debut studio album named “We Started Nothing”, released in May 2008, through this tour. The tour will cover 9 major cities in U.S and will conclude at Los Angeles on August 6th. The tickets for the shows of Ting Tings will be in great demand as the album has gained No 1 position in British charts.

The first annual Sunset Strip music festival will start on June 26th with tributes to the famous music icons Mario Maglieri, Lou Alder and Elmer Valentine. Music will be in the air for three days at the House of Blues and Whisky A Go-Go. The clubs on the 1.3 mile stretch in West Hollywood will witness musical extravaganza by various noted music performers and concert groups. It is announced that Everclear, The Shys, Lady Sinatra, Camp Freddy, The 88 and Lisa D’Amato will give performances during this three-day festival. Apart from these performers, some legendary guests are also expected for the festival. It is better to get the tickets in advance for this festival as they will soon be exhausted due to demand.

The legendary singer John Mathis has a leisurely planned tour of North America that will keep him busy performing at concerts till the month of January 2009. Mathis is touring the U.S in support of his latest album “A Night to Remember” released last April and is touring to celebrate his 50 years in the music industry. Mathis has 2 shows lined up in Pittsburgh on 11 and 112 of July, 2 shows in Westbury, NY on 9 and 10 of August, 4 shows in September, couple of shows in November and December and four shows in December. John Mathis fans will be overjoyed by hearing his new tour schedules and will be booking their tickets well in advance for the gigs in their respective cities.

Boy George, the lead man of the famous British pop group Culture Club, will be performing a free concert for the street sweeping people of New York. Boy George had worked with the street sweeping people as part of his community service sentence in 2006. Boy George said that he wanted to belatedly thank the people who helped him through the rough times in 2006 and hence will be performing for them on the New York City Department’s Family Day on August 17. Boy George was ordered to do a week long community service following a wrong report filed by him of a burglary in his New York flat. Boy George fans are always seen rushing to buy tickets for his concerts.

The rock star Bob Dylan’s fans will be rushing to book their tickets for his show, as he has recently announced that he will be going on a mid summer trek across US during the month of August and early September. The current European leg of his tour will be concluding in the month of July and Dylan will kick start his US tour with a performance at the Pittsburgh’s New American Music Union Festival on August 9. The headlining concert tour is reported to cover cities like California, New York, Ohio, Arizona, Indianapolis and Colorado. Bob Dylan is undertaking this US mid summer tour in support of his retrospective album “Dylan”.

The English rock band “Yes” has announced the cancellations of their 26 day North American summer trek owing to the ill health of its lead vocalist Jon Anderson. A statement released by Anderson says that he is incapacitated to perform due to respiratory problems and has been advised by the doctors to take complete rest. Anderson, while voicing his disappointment of not performing this summer, promised that he will comeback with more vigor and strength in the near future. The refund for the tickets will be given at the place of purchase and there have been no concrete reports so far on the rescheduling of the tour.

The six time Grammy Award singing sensation Toni Braxton will not be performing in any of her scheduled shows as she needs time to recover from her health problems. The 40 year old R&B rockstar who shot to fame with her solo number “Un-break my Heart” will also be not performing at the “Toni Braxton : Revealed” show slated on June 6 that is organized at the Flamingo Los Angeles. Toni Braxton had been hospitalized on April 7 following complaints of chest pain and there are reports indicating that she has not fully recovered from the viral inflammation on her heart. The fans who had bought tickets to watch her perform live will be a dejected lot.

Jakob Dylan, the youngest son of very popular rocker Bob Dylan, has revealed that he will be carrying out a summer tour to promote his forthcoming solo debut album “Seeing Things”, that will see the limelight on June 10. He has kick started his summer trek with a rollicking performance on May 31 in Philadelphia and will be seen performing at places like Washington, New York, Orlando, Atlanta, Detroit, Chicago, Seattle and other important cities. Jakob Dylan will be concluding his 27 day summer trek by performing at the Austin City Limits Music Festival on September 27. Tickets to the concerts in most locations are on sale now and music lovers are flocking in large numbers to book their tickets.
