Aerosmith in concert

Posted on February 8th, 2008 by Naomi in Uncategorized

The Mohegan Sun Arena had the honor of hosting Aerosmith for the fifth time. They had already played eight venues straight before that. They seem to have started limiting playing their 70’s tunes to only three or four different ones. Their shows always have great lighting and an LED projector displaying the back line and video. One time for “Hangman Jury”, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry sat on opposite sides of the stage and did an acoustic version of the song. They really play off each other well as was witnessed when they all gathered around the drummer, Joey Kramer during the song “Rats in the Cellar.” This intimacy comes from working many years together on the road.

Tyler had energy and lots of charisma to keep the show happening. The intensity of the son “What It Takes” was just so amazing. Nobody else could have sang the song like that. Aerosmith proved they weren’t ready for the nursing home yet as they gave their fans a younger renewed type of show. The sound was crisp. The instruments were in perfect tune. They took their rough edges and made them work for an all encompassing great show. If you ever get the chance to go see them in your area, please do, it is well worth it.
